Big Red Bus Visits the Coast - Friday 30th August 2019

On Friday 30th August, Solway Firth Partnership (SFP) will visit three locations along the Solway Cumbrian Coast on a Red Routemaster Bus to talk to people about their coast and sea.

SFP staff will be on the Big Red Bus to welcome visitors on board to learn more about marine planning in the Solway and why it might be important to them.

The locations for the Big Red Bus are:
• Silloth Waterfront car park: 10.00am to 12.30pm
• Allonby Beach car park: 1.00pm to 4.00pm
• Maryport Harbourside (opposite the Aquarium): 4.30pm to 6.30pm

Maryport Trawler Race Saturday 3rd August 2019
The Race starts approx 1pm. Children’s entertainment, face painting, birds of prey demonstrations and a children’s fair. The emergency services will be on hand showcasing their equipment and demonstrating what they do.

Lakes Alive 2019
6th – 8th September 2019. The Lakes will again be Alive to the sights and sounds of this annual cultural extravaganza. The team are back together and plans to entertain, wow and delight all who attend this year’s Lakes Alive are hotting up as the count-down begins to the event.

Silloth Music & Beer Festival 2019
The Silloth Music & Beer Festival will take place this year from 5th to 8th September 2019 on Silloth Green. The festival is organised by the committee of Silloth Music Festivals Ltd. which is a not-for-profit company; any profits made are either ploughed back into improving future festivals or helping other music events on The Green.

West Cumbria Percy Kelly Trails
A series of trails stretching from Allonby to St.Bees exploring the landscape and buildings that inspired the artist Percy Kelly.They are suitable for all grades of fitness from a short stroll to a challenging coastal walk. All can all be reached by public transport.

Car boot sales are held behind Spring Lea Leisure Centre on Saturday mornings throughout the Summer.
