Activities - Windsurfing Allonby


Not many things beat a day by the seaside.

There's nothing quite like the feel of the sun on your back and waves breaking over your feet. There's also lots of nature and wildlife to discover. Take a long walk along the wide open space that is Allonby Bay or go for a leisurely stroll around the village to explore Allonby's fascinating buildings. You don't know what you might discover in "The Pig in the Bath". Allonby has perfect kite flying weather and for the more adventuerous the beach is a popular venue for kite and wind surfers. Fishing boat trips can be arranged from Maryport.

Other activities include a trip to the aquarium at Maryport. Go for a swim at the local leisure centre, or in the sea. Bank Mill garden centre has a nature reserve, play area and coffee shop.

Maryport Maritime Museum
The Maritime Museum is situated on the harbour in the historic town of Maryport in a building which was originally The Queen's Head Public House.
